The Importance of Achieving Work-Life Balance with Coworking

What is work life balance and why is it important?

Work life balance is creating symmetry between your work and your personal life.

The pandemic has been a catalyst for shifting our working and personal lives. We all faced rapid changes with the blink of an eye. Working on our kitchen counters, limited social interaction and being at home 99% of the time all became the new norm. It has all left us a little lost and somewhat unmotivated; hence why it is so crucial now to focus on our wellness.

Tips on achieving work life balance and its benefits

Remote working has meant that our home and work lives blurred into one; with an unhealthy tipping of the scale towards working longer hours than usual and neglecting socialising and self-development.

Here are some tips that may help you achieve work life balance.

Have set working hours

By having core hours, it will help create the separation between home and work life. Trial and error can help you figure out what kind of schedule will be best suited to your lifestyle.

Create healthy boundaries

Create boundaries with your boss, family and friends. Ensure you communicate with them on when they are able to reach you and any hours where you’re unable to make time for them.

Organise your tasks

It may help to write down to-do lists and or block out slots on your calendar. It’s a good habit to adopt and ensures you know exactly what you’re doing and when.

Take some ‘me time’

Set aside time for just yourself everyday. What is it that you enjoy doing? Perhaps its cooking a nourishing meal, or listening to your favourite podcast. Whatever it may be, reserve uninterrupted time as part of a self-care practise.

Work life balance with coworking  at Uncommon

Coworking is the bridge to the future – healthily creating that barrier between working and home life.

At Uncommon, we use the ABW method (Activity Based Working) where individuals are able to use different work spaces designated for specific tasks. We have quiet areas, areas for collaborative working, individual booths for calls and more.

Community is a core element of coworking spaces like Uncommon. We offer brilliant networking opportunities and access to events you wouldn’t have access to working from home. We offer fitness classes, health & wellbeing sessions and collaborations with local brands that are in alignment with our ethos.

Our Liverpool Street Space has a dedicated Well Studio which features meditation pods to easily tap into some ‘me time’ at any point of their working day.

Our spaces help you with striking the balance between working efficiently and wellbeing.
