International Women’s Day 2025: Celebrating Uncommon Women – Lara

In honour of our fabulous women at Uncommon we are celebrating International Women’s Day 2025. With 63% of the Uncommon team are women, we asked 5 of them about their role and who inspires them the most. First in this series is Lara, our Central Sales Executive.

Lara, Central Sales Executive

  • What is your role at Uncommon?

I’m a Central Sales Executive, so I am jointly responsible for bringing as many people as possible into our spaces—whether through campaigns, broker relationships, or managing coworking memberships.

  • Have you faced any challenges as a woman? How did you overcome them?

Navigating a world still catching up with gender equality isn’t always the easiest. Imposter syndrome can be a real occurrence, especially in male-dominated industries. Knowledge is power however and staying informed helps me feel confident and in control.

  • What advice would you give to those considering a similar role to yours?

Immerse yourself in the role, build great relationships, and stay organised – there’s a lot of simultaneous moving parts. Most importantly, don’t sweat small stuff – keep moving forward. All these things help with personal life too!

  • What woman inspires you and why?

Brené Brown—her insights on vulnerability, leadership, and resilience are very interesting. She’s great at articulating feelings that we all (especially women) chronically experience but helps reframe them. Good place to start – Brené Brown: The power of vulnerability | TED Talk

  • What is your favourite thing about being a woman?

The deep connections I’ve made, embracing self-discovery, and knowing that mistakes are part of growth.

We invite you to honour and championing all of the women in your company, workplace and lives.
