In this post we delve into the qualities of West London that make it a unique area to experience.
Experience the west side of the city
A pleasant residential district and a buzzing hive for tourists, the west isn’t short of green space and scenic commute paths. Business wise, it’s home to an increasing number of start-ups and established companies from a broad range of sectors. Estate agents, tech experts, medics, thespians, musicians, park rangers, teachers. Even wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists have headquarters in West London.
Deer roam the parks and a myriad of other animals including otters, owls, herons and lots of amphibians live at the London Wetland Centre. Then there’s the Natural History Museum in South Kensington. You could meet the world’s favourite natural history broadcaster, Sir David Attenborough here, as he’s involved in lots of the museum’s projects. The British Broadcasting Company have their headquarters in Marylebone. And let’s be honest, the BBC is one of the best things to have been created on our little island. One of the UK’s busiest airports, Heathrow is close by in West London. So if watching BBC Planet Earth rouses the adventurer in you, escaping to and from London is easy from here.
Thespians and musical theatre enthusiasts: for hump day treats and weekend outings, the West is your best port of call. Visit one of the fifty plus theatres that constitute the West End for the best quality selection of shows in the capital.
You now may want to hop on a bus and be a tourist in West London for the day. Although fun and exciting, we’re here to encourage, motivate and inspire in the workplace. So let’s get down to business…
The west side of the story
Where you work, how you work, what you wear to work. They say that your vibe attracts your tribe and we couldn’t agree more. These are all important factors when developing your personal brand and crucial when building your company’s brand. Don’t surf a one way tide ascending towards the centre of the city. Travelling west to areas like Hammersmith and Fulham brings a different commute experience. You don’t all head to work at the same time. You don’t all wear the same thing. From leafy green spaces, bustling cafes and networks of innovative start ups, Hammersmith and Fulham have it all.
More and more businesses are recognising the values of flexible working and we couldn’t be happier about this. Successful people come in suits, jeans, brogues and converse. They have got to where they want to be by communicating and delivering their work well and with impact – regardless of whether they wore a suit or heeled shoe to the office everyday. Effective management teams recognise that every employee is different. Time to do away with stuffy traditions like work uniform and set working hours.
The six boroughs of the west (Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow) are home to a ‘humble’ workforce of 750,000. And that’s more than the number of people currently living in Birmingham, so they’re not short of worker bees. All they need is inspired motivated people, bright ideas and an even brighter workspace.
Uncommon are coworking spaces that make you feel good so you do better. Creative yet calm environments. Reliable yet flexible memberships. The best news? We’ve just opened a new space in Fulham. Get in touch to find out more or simply to see it for yourself.
