Celebrating International Women’s Day 2020
International Women’s Day takes place this coming Sunday 8th March 2020 and is an opportunity to recognise this global initiative, which celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
We at Uncommon are not only co-founded by 31 year old entrepreneur extraordinaire, Tania Adir, but also fervently champion women in the workplace and will be celebrating our female members in March 2020 with a series of empowering events.
Before founding Uncommon, Tania trained as a lawyer, working for Allen & Overy, and then went on to launch property development firm G&T with her husband. Having spent 5 years in law/property development, they took the first step to starting Uncommon by purchasing their first workspace – Uncommon Highbury and Islington. This grew with the purchases of Borough, Fulham and Liverpool Street, and is set to grow further still in 2021 with the acquisition of a 140,000 sq. ft property in Holborn (the former headquarters of TFL).
Tania has spent the best part of a decade researching wellness in the workplace, to create a more productive, happier, motivated and dedicated working environment for her members – all of which can be backed up by glowing testimonials from our wide variety of members, including individual freelancers, start-ups, SME’s and major corporate companies.
As part of her research, Tania found that 92% of UK office occupiers prefer wellness enabled buildings. As a result, Tania and her team of designers have included a number of features to ensure this is provided for all members. Our newest flagship space in Liverpool Street launched the Well Studio in November 2019 with Peloton and offers 2 spin bikes and 4 walnut clad meditation pods, whilst other spaces have rooftop yoga studios, ergonomic furniture, hundreds of green plants, custom scents and specially created music.
Tania is incredibly passionate about leading the design direction for each Uncommon space, working closely with architects to create beautiful, unique, workspaces that help our members live well, work well, and do well.
Together with celebrating the achievements of our founder Tania, we invite you to honour International Women’s Day with us by attending one of our upcoming events, and championing all of the women in your company, workplace and lives.
Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender equal world.
